ADHD & Executive Functioning Support in Kitchener-Waterloo

Move past shame, overcome chronic task paralysis, and build real-world systems that work with your brain - not against it.

Living with ADHD and/or Autism - whether you are were diagnosed in childhood or discovered it in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s - often comes with an exhausting internal narrative: “Why can’t I just do the thing everyone else finds simple?”

Traditional advice like "just use a planner" fails because standard productivity tools assume a neurotypical nervous system. At our practice, we support individuals navigating:

  • Chronic Task Paralysis: Staring at an urgent project or email for hours, physically unable to initiate the first step.

  • ADHD Burnout & Masking: Spending immense energy pretending to have everything under control at work or school, only to collapse the second you get home.

  • Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD): Feeling overwhelming, physical distress in response to perceived criticism, disagreement, or rejection.

  • The "All-or-Nothing" Cycle: Swinging erratically between hyperfocus (forgetting to eat, drink, or sleep) and total executive exhaustion.

  • Working Memory & Clutter Loops: Feeling perpetually scattered, missing deadlines, misplacing items, and feeling buried under mental and physical clutter.

Neuro-Affirming Psychotherapy: Therapy vs. Formal Assessment

We practice neuro-affirming psychotherapy. We do not try to "fix" your neurodivergence or force you into neurotypical molds; we help you understand your nervous system's dopamine economy and redesign your daily environment.

  • Somatic & Nervous System Regulation: Breaking out of the ADHD "freeze" state using body-based techniques before trying to use cognitive tools.

  • Dopamine-Friendly Scaffolding: Creating tangible, low-friction habits for organizing, studying, and working that honor your natural focus cycles.

  • Deconstructing Internalized Shame: Unpacking the grief and frustration of past criticism, school struggles, or feeling like you haven't met your "potential

A Note on Formal Diagnosis: We provide ongoing clinical psychotherapy. While we do not administer assessments for formal diagnostic reports, our clinicians frequently support clients before, during, and after the formal assessment process, helping you integrate what your diagnosis means for your daily life. We can also help refer you for a formal assessment.

What Working Together Looks Like

Phase 1: Stabilization & Triage

We map out your unique executive dysfunction patterns without judgment. We identify where your daily life is leaking energy and put immediate triage strategies in place to lower acute distress and task paralysis.

Phase 2: Unmasking & Structural Adaptation

We dismantle the protective masks that cause nervous system burnout. We develop personalized strategies for emotional regulation, boundary setting, and workplace/academic accommodation requests.

Phase 3: Self-Trust & Integration

You move from constant crisis management to sustainable self-advocacy. You leave with practical systems, improved emotional resilience, and deep acceptance of how your brain functions.
